Delivery of validators for the new e-ticketing system in Niš
At the beginning of February, PENTA produced and delivered a total of 400 pcs of BusCARD VAL validators to Bus Logic d.o.o. for the needs of public city transport in Niš (Serbia), which will be integrated into the new e-ticketing system.
BusCARD VAL offers a complete contactless solution but also has a built-in 2D barcode reader, making this device suitable for all automated payment and access control systems. The device is designed to be smaller and compact and can be placed at all entrances to the vehicle. BusCARD VAL enables simple, fast and secure contactless ticket validation - RFID cards, NFC-enabled mobile phones, and phone/paper tickets with QR codes. The sizeable wide touch screen and intuitive graphical user interface make this device easy to use for ticket validation, ticket status checking and multimedia content displaying. The robust housing and touch screens are resistant to impacts and scratches and have a reinforced protective layer that makes the device resistant to all forms of vandalism.
The beginning of the year will bring significant changes to users of public transport in Niš - there will no longer be bus conductors. Still, validators will be used where passengers scan their tickets when entering and exiting the bus to check out the ride, while inspectors will check whether the cards have been read. The new system brings significant benefits for users. Passengers can supplement their monthly tickets without crowds at points of sale thanks to the NiCard application (e-wallet). Personalised tickets will be easily readable and top-up with a payment card, significantly simplifying the process of purchasing and using public transport. In addition to the e-wallet card, passengers can purchase a paper ticket with a QR code.
